Role of Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University

The Rajabhat University Act B.E. 2547 (2004), Section 7, stipulates that the university is a higher education institution for local development that creates intellectual power for the nation, restores learning power, promotes local wisdom, and creates arts and sciences for the stable and sustainable advancement of all people. It participates in the management, conservation, and balanced and sustainable utilization of natural resources and the environment. The objectives are to provide education, promote advanced academic and professional studies, conduct teaching and research, provide academic services to society, improve, transfer, and develop technology, preserve arts and culture, produce teachers, and promote teacher academic status.

University Symbol

The current university emblem is the Royal Seal of the Reign of King Rama IX. It depicts the Atthit Uthumphon Ratcha Ason Throne, consisting of a chakra wheel. At the center of the wheel is a sacred symbol with radiating rays surrounding it. Above the wheel is a seven-tiered white umbrella, placed on the Atthit Throne, representing royal power and sovereignty over the land. Around the outer upper part of the emblem are Thai letters reading “Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University,” and the lower part contains English letters reading "SUAN SUNANDHA RAJABHAT UNIVERSITY"

Kaew Chao Chom Flower

University Flower

The symbolic flower of the university is the “Kaew Chao Chom Flower.” The Kaew Chao Chom tree is a flowering plant brought and planted by His Majesty King Chulalongkorn in Suan Sunandha Garden. It was obtained during his royal visit to Java (Indonesia). The flower resembles the Kaew flower, but its petals are bluish-purple with yellow stamens. The leaves resemble Kaew leaves but are rounder, connected, and more compact. The first tree was planted on the mound in front of Building 11. Currently, the tree is approximately 15 meters tall.

Buddha Hall

It is a place of worship and respect for university personnel and students. It houses the Buddha image named Sunandathiparatana Patimasi Mongkol, measuring 14 inches across the lap, which is a Buddha image in the Mara Victory posture. It was granted its name by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn in 1985. It is located opposite the Sunanthanusorn Auditorium building.

Statue of Her Majesty Queen Sunandha Kumariratana

The statue of Her Majesty Queen Sunandha Kumariratana is located at the Faculty of Education, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University. It is a place of worship and respect as well as a center and spiritual connection for Suan Sunandha students and personnel.

Phra Buddha Sunanthakorn

It is considered the sacred Buddha image of Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University. It was granted its name by His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great in 1969. The Buddha image is in the Blessing posture with a decorative cloth featuring the emblem of Suan Sunandha Teachers College. It measures 17 inches across the lap and is enshrined at the Cultural Arts Center building.
